Song of faith. Saturday December 5, 2015

"Based on the inspiring comments from Susan and Lex on Lex's blog called "Sow
before bedtime", conjuring an image of a child kneeling to pray before
bed but written to compliment the thread of the posts".

Song of Faith

I give thanks for deep breaths I take.
For light of day and gift of food,
For water and a place to be
The universe so vast and me!

For those who are just there for us,
If even just to listen.
For those with whom we share the gift
Of being who we are.
For gifts of learning from all of our
Unlikliest of teachers
For knowing that each day will bring
Another understanding.

I plant the seed of hope/strength/peace/rest/action/choice/health/being tonight
And hold dear my strong faith
This seed will grow
not even try, before I know, just wait...
And if it were to fade, not flourish
There'll be no need to worry.
I'll look and pamper where it sits
Then plant another seed.

Ahhh...Lillipet ~ dear one. What a lovely blog. I especially love "I'll look and pamper where it sits, then plant another seed." You are gifted and your words are a balm for my sore heart.

LillyPet Sat, Dec 5th 2015 @ 7:31am

Good morning Di, thankyou! I'm glad to have soothed your sore heart a little. Xx
That line that you like was inspired by a quote that went something like" if a flower fails to thrive we change its environment, not the flower." Why the sore heart hun? Or maybe you dont want to think about it too much? You'll be in my thoughts today Di. Big hug. Love LP xxx

Bless you, LP. Such a beautiful, soulful, poetic prayer. Just as the sun will rise again and again in that pinkblue sky, so will those seeds continue to grow. Thank you for this lovely meditation this morning. xx

Mary Sat, Dec 5th 2015 @ 2:39pm

I love your line about sharing the gift of who we are. I am always surprised at how many people are prepared to love me - dark times and all. Just so grateful.

LillyPet Sat, Dec 5th 2015 @ 10:49pm

So true for me too Mary! Shows that people see us fir who we really are, not our moods. Xxx

The Gardener Sat, Dec 5th 2015 @ 6:23pm

Mr TG is is an awful mood - but, every day I give thanks, I don't know who to, for my sight, my brain, my friends, the thought of Christmas - that I will be strong enough to resist the stultifying boredom of the lack of sensible conversation (or even silly conversation) and being got up 6 times a night. And 'the gifts of learning' how many people have 'stung' or 'motivated' me into continuing curiosity - and a perpetual interest in what makes people tick! One of LillyPet's thanks is for water - this, for anybody who has travelled in the Far East, particularly India, is something to be treasured, by we who expect it to arrive from the tap. (The people installing my new kitchen had completely forgotten taps!)

Leah Sat, Dec 5th 2015 @ 9:52pm

Gardener Continuing curiosity is a wonderful thing and probably why you are so mentally agile and fascinating and full of hope. You can cope with mr TGs awful moods that is wonderful I have trouble coping with my own.

LillyPet Sat, Dec 5th 2015 @ 10:54pm

Lol! How could they not have noticed missing taps! :) Like you, when I do feel gratitude it is a general thanks not to anyone. Interesting concept ! Can thanks and gratitude just be, without a receiver? Xxx

Maria Sat, Dec 5th 2015 @ 6:35pm

Beautiful sentiments. Thank you LillyPet for sharing your gifts with us. Reminds me to trust in this vast universe :)

LillyPet Sat, Dec 5th 2015 @ 10:56pm

Absolutely Maria! Xxx

Leah Sat, Dec 5th 2015 @ 9:49pm

what a beautiful poem full of inspiring thoughts. Thanks. Alas I am a mere mortal and many many times fall short. Maybe turning into a grumpy old woman a tad early but I keep trying to improve!

LillyPet Sat, Dec 5th 2015 @ 11:08pm

We are who we are and it is what it is! Maybe as we get older we don't see the point in not telling it like it is! Learning about ourselves, improving or just being, its all anout the ebbs and flows! :). Xxx

LillyPet Sat, Dec 5th 2015 @ 11:08pm

Thanks Leah! Xxx
