What is Truth? Sunday November 17, 2019

The idea of what truth is
Has mystified many people
Over time.
But there are also strangers
To the truth.

When I discover this
About a person
I will never be able
To trust them again.

Truth is apparently nebulous
It is apparently illusive
Your perceptions of truth
Are not always mine.

This has been a great problem
When building up a relationship
I start wondering
'Is this person telling the truth?

When I question a person's veracity
Then the relationship
Can become marred.
I would love to know
Whether certain people
Are telling the truth
Or 'porky pies.'

My perception of truth
May not necessarily be yours.
